Drive Friendly Pass It On

This sticker was on my newspaper this morning. It is HILARIOUS so I just have to share. The way Utahn’s actually drive is in red. I think if people are actually TAUGHT how to drive and not given a license if they can’t drive it would help alleviate these issues. Enjoy!

It’s the holiday season – so much to do! The Utah Department of Public Safety is asking for your help. Aggressive and inattentive driving contributes to crashes throughout Utah. Make an effort to drive with care and courtesy this holiday season to reduce the number of driver error and aggressive related crashes.

•Maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. (Unless someone signals to change lanes in front of you. Then speed up so you are inches from the bumper of the car in front of you and then flip everyone off)
•Use your signal to turn, change lanes, or merge. (Never use blinkers for any reason. EVER!)
•If another driver wants to pass, let them. (See #1. Speed up or slow down so the other driver is unable to change lanes and they miss their turns. Then flip them off)
•Respect pedestrians’ right of way. (Turn whenever you want. It’s their fault if they’re in the road)
•Adjust your attitude; let other drivers’ actions go. (Make sure you do everything within your power to ignore other drivers or traffic signals. Make sure you block or slow down traffic while driving. Then flip everyone off)
•Plan your trips ahead to avoid congestion. (I do what I want. When I want. How I want. Everyone else just stay away from me. Then flip every one off)
•Avoid texting, cell phone use, shaving, putting on makeup, reading, etc. (This is the only way to drive. Texting and talking is the best way to ignore traffic, signals, drivers, weather. You old fogies just can’t multi-task like us teens. Then just flip everyone off)
Treat other drivers the way you would like to be treated. (Heck, I will do what I want. When I want. How I want. I will drive as fast or as slow as I want. In any or all lanes I choose. I will cut in line, cut off cars, make turns right in front of others so they must slam on their brakes to avoid hitting me. Then I flip them off. Stop in the middle of the road when I missed my turn and backup so I can go where I want. I will play my music as loud as I want and turn my rear view mirror so I can look at myself when I drive. Who cares about the cars behind me? I will drive down the center island or the right shoulder to pass all the idiots who are driving correctly and waiting their turn. It’s especially cool when you smoke, shave, apply makeup, read, text, drive and shift all at the same time. This is especially true when it’s snowing really hard)

My New Theme Song

Trace’s new CD X (or Ten) came out this week. It's a great CD!! Trace’s voice is clear and strong and he hits every single note. There’s a nice mix of new and old and fun and reflective. He sings a lot of Baritone too, which I love!

Song #7 is my new theme song. Here are the lyrics…

I’m gonna marry for money
I’ll be so darn rich it ain’t funny
I’m gonna have me a trust fund, yacht club, hot tub piece of the pie
Find me a sweet sugar daddy
With a whole lot of zeros and commas
Don’t really care if he loves me
He can even be ugly
But I’m gonna marry for money

I won’t have to love his family
I won’t have to like his friends
And if it works out like I planned it
I won’t ever have to work again

I’m gonna fly to Hawaii
On a Leer jet the old man will buy me
And I’ll call him sweetheart and honey
If he’s a hundred and twenty
I’m gonna marry for money
I don’t care if he loves me
He can really be ugly
I’m gonna marry for money!!

Ch-ch-changes

I cleaned out my storage space this past week. Thank you Joey for your help! In doing so I have a house full of boxes. I gave most of my stuffed animals to a young man for his Eagle Project (Christmas for Navajo children). I went though my boxes of videos deciding what to keep and what to donate to the library. My boxes and boxes of books are next to be donated. I watched three of the movies that I LOVED. The Last of the Mohicans, White Nights, Someone to Watch Over Me.

I still love Mohicans. This movie has some of the greatest lines...IMHO. My favorite is when the British officer, Duncan, asks Hawkeye and his adopted father and brother, "how is it that you are going to Kentuck-ee with a war going on?" Hawkeye answers "well, we face north and real subtle like turn left." Another favorite is when Cora, Col. Munro's eldest daughter, tells Duncan, "You are a man with few admirable qualities. But taken as a whole, I was wrong to have thought so highly of you." Slam! And, of course, the line most people remember is Hawkeye telling Cora "Stay alive no matter what occurs. No matter how far. No matter how long. Stay alive. I will find you." This line makes all the romantics cry and all the men choke down a chortle. I need to check out from the library the book by James Fenimore Cooper. The book is almost always better than the movie!

White Nights...the story is still good but the 80's music really got on my nerves. Baryshnikov just doesn't look good dancing modern and tap....his style is just too traditional ballet and his feet point the wrong way.

Someone to Watch...This is a movie for hopeless romantics. But, I couldn't stand the adultery in the movie.

I also watched Eye of the Needle that I rented from Netflix. I remember LOVING this movie when it came out in 1981. When I watched it I was embarrassed by the nudity and language. How come I didn't remember that? Why did I loved it so much 27 years ago?? UG! This is a don't watch and forget about movie now.

Halloween 10/31/08

This is my Halloween costume. I went as Jo the accountant (like Joe the plummer)....a bitter typical white person. Man, this costume took me a long time to put together!
After work I went to Kathy's house and Kathy, Sharon, Scott and I played dominos, ate chips and salsa, and watch Michael Jackson videos. Scott and Sharon both had to work the next day so Kathy and I talked until 1:30 in the morning. What a wild bunch huh??

Collin Raye Concert 11/5/08

I went to a Collin Raye concert at Desert Star tonight. This is the first time I'd seen him in concert. I went by myself because finding someone to go with is not an easy feat.

Collin is a great performer. He put on a really good show. It was a small room and it was just Collin, his piano player, Melanie, and guitar player, Scott. Collin's daughter, Brittany, came on stage and sang a few songs with him. Collin and Brittay moved to SLC because Brittany's eldest daughter is very ill and Primary Children's is the only hospital that will help them.

Collin says he will play there again next November. All his shows this week sold out. I definitely want to go next year.

It was really fun because I saw two people I know. My friend Connie from the 4th Ward and her daughter, Tammy, were there with friends. Connie's other daughter Debbi was my Mary Kay lady and I taughter her daughter Alisa in Primary.

Tammy and her friends were the wild bunch at the concert. It was nice not being the loudest one there. I hope Tammy got some pictures. Cameras weren't allowed but some people were taking pictures with their phones. If she has pictures I will post them later.

Tammy and her friends were ooing and awing over how sexy Collin is. Well, I can't agree because Trace Adkins is the sexiest man I've ever seen. Maybe I need to convert them? Well, maybe I'll just let them be. Collin seems like a nice guy and seems to be a good Christian.

I think it would have been much more fun if I was sitting with people I knew. It's hard to get rowdy and share the fun when you don't know the people you're sitting by. Sometimes being single really sucks!!
Goof job Collin and gang. It was a fabulous evening!!!
